Hydrangeas drink not only through their stems but through their flower heads too. Submerging a wilted head upside down in cool water for a few hours usually revives it completely. Mist the flower lightly every day and split the bottom 2–3 cm of the stem vertically to improve water uptake. They wilt fastest in warm rooms — a cool corner extends their life.
