Gerbera stems are soft and hairy and rot quickly in deep water. Use only 3–4 cm of water and change it every day. If a head starts to droop, trimming 1–2 cm off the stem and standing it in lukewarm water for a few hours usually revives it. Scentless and pollen-free, it is one of the least troublesome flowers for hospitals and closed offices.
